Cookie policy

What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. They let a site remember things between page loads – what’s in your basket, whether you’re signed in – and they can also be used to measure how a site is used.
This page explains which cookies this site sets, and why.
What we use
This site sets only the cookies needed to make it work. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share data gathered through cookies.
Essential cookies
These are required for the shop and your account to function. They can’t be switched off, and under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they don’t require your consent.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
woocommerce_cart_hash | WooCommerce | Records what’s in your basket | When you close the browser |
woocommerce_items_in_cart | WooCommerce | Records what’s in your basket | When you close the browser |
wp_woocommerce_session_* | WooCommerce | Links your basket and checkout details to you | 2 days |
wordpress_logged_in_* | WordPress | Keeps you signed in to your account | Session, or 14 days if you tick “Remember me” |
wordpress_sec_* | WordPress | Secures your signed-in session | Session, or 14 days |
wp-settings-* | WordPress | Remembers admin screen preferences (staff only) | 1 year |
Security
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
__cf_bm | Cloudflare | Distinguishes people from bots, so contact forms aren’t flooded with spam | 30 minutes |
cf_clearance | Cloudflare | Records that a security check has been passed | Up to 1 year |
We use Cloudflare Turnstile on our forms. It’s a privacy-focused alternative to a CAPTCHA – it doesn’t track you across websites and doesn’t build an advertising profile.
Payment
When you pay, you’re handed to your chosen payment provider, and they set their own cookies under their own policies:
PayPal – paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full
We never see or store your card details.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site – which pages are read, which products are viewed, where visitors come from. It helps us decide what to improve.
These cookies are not essential, so we only set them if you agree.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | Maintains session state | 2 years |
Google Analytics data is processed by Google Ireland Limited, and may be transferred outside the UK under an International Data Transfer Agreement. We have IP anonymisation enabled and we do not use the data for advertising.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites using Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, and most offer per-site controls.
Be aware that blocking essential cookies will stop the basket and checkout working, and you won’t be able to stay signed in to your account.
More information
How we handle personal information generally is set out in our Privacy Policy.
