From a Norfolk farm, by way of anaerobic digestion
Steve Suggitt started in the farming world, contracting across the East of England. Years ago he became interested in renewable energy, so he travelled to Europe to find out more – and came back with anaerobic digestion, the first to bring the idea to the UK.
He began producing biogas for the main grid and bio-digestate for his own fields. Switching the usual artificial feeds and animal waste for cereal crops, he found the crop yield improved significantly. PlantGrow was established in 2015 to share what was working on the farm.
Today the whole range comes out of that same renewable-energy process: bulk bags of peat-free compost, mulch, soil conditioner and liquid feeds. No peat, no animal waste, no chemicals – and still the first sustainable garden range in the UK made this way.
Made from plants, and nothing else
There is no animal waste and no harsh chemicals in any PlantGrow product. Everything we make is 100% natural, vegan and peat-free – made only from selected plants.
That matters beyond your own borders. Fertilisers built on animal waste and synthetic chemicals carry a cost to the wider environment, in the water table and in the soil food web. We would rather work with what nature already does well: plant material, composted by anaerobic digestion, returned to the soil as food.
With no chemicals in them, our products are safe to use around pets, children and wildlife. They’re sustainable and waste free, and they’ll still give you the strong, vibrant growth you’d expect from a plant food.

The people behind the bag
Over twenty years in the farming industry before PlantGrow. Steve developed the process and established the company in 2016.

Dan oversees the daily running of PlantGrow and all production and operations. He came out of twenty years in design and print in 2016 to introduce PlantGrow to the market, and has designed most of the artwork you'll see on the bag.

Callum started in production before moving to marketing. His background is design and media, and he's usually the one you'll speak to on the phone about what's right for your garden.

A whole career in sales and over seventeen years in the garden industry. Ian covers stores across East Anglia and is a familiar face in the trade.

Terry and Ches haul raw material into the Norfolk site and finished products out to stores, working across PlantGrow and the farming sister company.
